Alexis received a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Health Services from Western Michigan University while being a student-athlete on their varsity gymnastics team. She continued her education at Western Michigan University in the 4+1 Occupational Therapy program, where she received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Alexis became interested in a career in occupational therapy after shadowing a pediatric feeding clinic for children with sensory processing disorders. That experience solidified her passion for working in pediatrics and studying occupational therapy in college. She has experience in pediatrics through her previous years of coaching gymnastics and being a caregiver for children of various diagnoses, such as ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, food sensitivities, gross motor delays, fine motor delays, and more. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, cat, and her roommate’s dogs, along with painting and finding new recipes to cook.
