Carlie completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education. She completed her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. Carlie has experience working with adults with spinal cord injuries and has otherwise spent most of her career with the pediatric population. She has worked in early intervention, school-based, home-based, and clinic-based settings with children and their families. Carlie takes pride in being an advocate for children. She values working with a multi-disciplinary team to best address each child’s unique needs. Carlie works from a holistic and strength-based approach.
She has experience working with clients with sensory processing difficulties, autism, Down syndrome, genetic disorders, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, ADHD, neuromuscular disorders, and developmental delays.
Carlie has completed continuing education courses in Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Attachment and Trauma in Pediatric OT Practice, Advanced OT Assessment for Attachment and Trauma, the Safe and Sound Protocol, DIRFloortime, the Size Matters Handwriting Program, and assistive technology. She is also a certified yoga instructor.
When Carlie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and Labrador Retriever. She also enjoys playing tennis, reading, baking, and exploring the amazing state of North Carolina.
