​Yuri is from Georgia. She relocated to North Carolina to earn her B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After several years of teaching young children in a childcare setting, she returned to UNC-Chapel Hill, where she received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Yuri has experience working with children of all ages with a variety of diagnoses and conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, Down Syndrome, expressive/receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and other developmental delays and disorders. She also has experience working with both low-tech and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) modalities. Yuri has a specific interest in pediatric feeding and swallowing and has experience in treating children with oral motor delay, oral aversion, G-tube dependence, and other feeding difficulties.
Yuri is passionate about working with the pediatric population. She strives to create a supportive and structured environment for children as they work towards their goals, and she enjoys collaborating and communicating with caregivers as they work together to meet the child’s communication and/or feeding needs.
